Surgical Technology Training
What is involved in Surgical Technology Training
Surgical Technology Training includes classroom education and supervised clinical experience. You will take courses in anatomy, physiology, professional ethics, and medical terminology. You will learn how to sterilize instruments, prevent and control infection, handle special drugs, and much more. Upon completion of the course, you are expected to be able to handle instruments quickly, and to be organized, conscientious, and emotionally stable under pressure. You can later specialize in a particular area of surgery, such as neurosurgery, if you would like to advance within the field.
